A Belle Epoque interior titled ‘Billet de faveur’ by Jean de la Hoese (lot 12) was auctioned at € 17000, while an outdoor scene titled ‘La croisière,’ quite unusual in Fernand Toussaint’s body of work, drew a bid of € 28000 (lot 13). It was one of the windfalls for classical figurative work among 20th-century art on offer. An impressive view of the Norwegian Lofoten by Gunnar Berg (lot 14) realised € 40000, which proved indeed that there are still international buyers for the classical genre.
