On May 10 Bernaerts holds another Books & Prints sale. We are pleased and honoured to announce the sale of an important selection from the library and archive from the Antwerp avant gard poet and critic Paul Neuhuys: numerous dedication copies (Mesens, Mariën, Nougé, Tzara, Cocteau, Eluard) besides rare pamphlets, magazines (Oesophage, Correspondance), an extremely rare first issue of the Russian avant garde review ‘Objet’, correspondance (Cocteau, Satie, Cendrars, Mesens….)….
Before that, there are the classical patrons of the Belgian avant garde print like Henri Van Straten, the brothers Cantré, Edmond Van Dooren, James Ensor, Jules De Bruycker together with international icons like Toyen, Otto Wols, Michel Seuphor and the ever exquisite Henry Moore with a delicate seated nude.
This time Bernaerts also offers a small but refined collection of Old Master prints with some fine sheets by Pieter Brueghel the Elder, Hendrick Goltzius, Antoon Van Dyck with some very touching portraits, Jacques Callot amongst others …..
