Theme
This sale opens with a forgotten artist, Leopold Muller. Within ’Old prints’ works by Maarten van Heemskerck and a magnificent piece by Léon Davent will be offred. Also a very rare collection travelling literature (from Mexico over the Northpole and the Humboldtbay) from the 19th century will draw attention. The second part comprehends a rich and in times rare offer of prints, illustrations and editions from the 20th century with roaring names like Marcel Broodthaers, Panamarenko, Henri Van Straten, Leon Spilliaert, Floris Jespers, de gebroeders Cantré, Tristan Tzara, Michel Seuphor, Jacques Villon, Alexander Archipenko and many more.
With Tristan Tzara there is also attention for the avant-garde, drawings by Anto Carte, Eugeen Van Mieghem, Alfred Ost and modern prints by Jules De Bruycker, Giorgio De Chirico, Paul Delvaux, Kurt Peiser, Robert Rauschenberg. There is a small but impressive list of photobooks available, as well as old and rare books. Last but not least the art library of Ronald Luyten (topography, paraphernalia, Antverpia and more).
