Spread over 300 lots, on Thursday afternoon, 4 December, we offered one of the finest Flemish private libraries, the fruit of more than 50 years of collecting at the highest level.
Under the banner “Beautiful Chaos”, more than 200 lots from the famous Graanmarkt 13 went under the hammer on Wednesday 3 December.
During the first of six sessions comprising the Bernaerts 50! auction, which featured 51 lots, 39 found new homes, sometimes at prices well above expectations. An overview of hammer prices, excluding commissions.
The summer weeks could not be introduced better than with this beautiful drawing. A company seeks coolness in the woods, the colors and brush stroke are as airy as they are refreshing.
The auction house is celebrating its 50th anniversary. To celebrate, we are organizing an auction on December 2, 3 and 4 entitled “Bernaerts 50”. In a fitting and eclectic exhibition in our halls, Paintings & Sculptures by Old, Modern and Contemporary Masters will be offered alongside Works on Paper, Design and Haute Epoque.
The Classic vs. Modern auction was a successful sale, with a couple of surprising results.
On Monday 28 April, Bernaerts Auctioneers will auction part of the Onzea-Govaerts collection. An exceptional collection in which the historical objects manage to stimulate intellectual wonder without losing sight of the aesthetic.
During the Works on Paper auction, more than 600 lots will be offered across two sessions held over two afternoons on April 29 and 30.
