The Spring Season draws to a close with the sale of ’Works on Paper’.

Although most of the sale is dedicated ton Post War art, the first part gives way some remarkable items: Much, if not all, of the attention will be drawn to a late 15th centrury Book of Hours (lot 1099) from the region around Rouen. From a slightly later date we offer three exquisite prints by Galle after Brueghel the Elder.

In the second part of the sale we approach the 20th century by first offering some nice Félicien Rops prints and a fine selection of Edgard Tytgat prints. The latter all come from the Taevernier collection. It’s nonetheless with a breathtaking water colour by Ferdinand Schirren that we firmly set foot on 20th century soil.

The Post War section is opened by a super George Mathieu drawing. A bit further down the road we offer a nice set of Warhol prints, nl. ’Flash’, preceeded by Delvaux hand coloured set ’Les Derniers Beaux Jours’. Other artists worth mentioning are Joseph Beuys, Ellsworth Kelly, Richard Serra, Allighiero Boeti, Anish Kapoor, Jeff Koons and some sought after ’Parkett editions’.
