On the last sale of the Spring Season, Bernaerts presented a wide variety of items, paintings, pieces of furniture, books and prints from the 15th up to the present day.
From the Interbellum era there was a rare symbolist painting by Xavier Mellery (lot 334), est. 3000-4000,- but eventually leaving the block at a firm 22000,-. From that same period we presented an almost unique collection of Franck furniture.

In the mid 20th century Sha Qi, called 'Sadji' painted a stillife with flowers, attaining much to every one's surprise 50000,-. A watercolour by the same artist also trippled its estimate and finally climbed up to 16000 euros. A peaceful Geer Van Velde painting though left the room for a moderate 10000.

The offering on the 'Works on Paper' sale was also rather diverse, ranging from a fine library of an Antwerp collector from which the highlight, the 'Biblia Polyglotta' sold for 16000 euros, to a breathtaking Poliakoff gouache, which sold after a harsh battle to a Parisian dealer on the phone for 36000 euros.
