Old Masters

There is a large panel depicting the Holy Family, from the circle of Willem Key (lot 66), from an Antwerp collection. Another highlight is the marvellous portrait of a lady by Francesco Giovanni Gessi or Michele Desubleo (lot 145), with an estimation of 10-12.000 euros. On a smaller scale we present works on copper by Johan Rottenhammer and Paul Bril (lot 63). Other artists represented on this are Frans Pourbus (lot 118), Quirijn Van Brekelenkam (lot 117), Benjamin Gerritsz. Cuyp (lot 116), Abraham Van Diepenbeeck (lot 105) and Jan Ravesteyn (lot 146).

19th century

We present a marvellous watercolour by Mortimer Luddington Menpes, an apprentice of Whistler, of a market scene in India (lot 38). Beside this item we have beautiful ’genre’ painting by Petro Saltini (lot 369), with an estimation of 15-20.000 euros. In this section we also have work by Louis Verboeckhoven, Romain Steppe, Henri Timmermans, Emile Boyer, Jozef Willems. Gerard Portielje makes his appearance with a chess game (lot 368), estimated 8-10.000 euros.
