CoBra 75 Years
CoBrA – Copenhagen – Brussels – (Amsterdam) Antwerp
A unique collection of more than 40 artworks by the artist group COBRA was on display at Bernaerts_Gallery from 26 October. The renowned Danish gallery Secher Fine Art & Design approached Bernaerts and it was soon agreed – not in the least with the 75th celebration of Cobra in mind – to devote the (halls) hall Museum in Museumstraat for this exceptional three-day exhibition.
The oil paintings and bronze sculptures of this crucial movement in post-war art have been carefully collected over the past three years: they include works by Pierre Alechinsky, Corneille, Karel Appel, Asger Jorn, Eugène Brands, Sonja Ferlov, Mancoba and Anton Rooskens.
The exhibition was very successful. About 600 visitors were counted.
